The Committee filed the “Recommendation of Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors In Support of the Third Amended Joint Chapter 11 Plan of BlockFi Inc. and Its Debtor Affiliates” pursuant to Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code.

March 13, 2023

The Bankruptcy Court conducted a hearing during which it announced that the Debtors’ motion to seal customer information (Docket Number 4) will be continued until May 8, 2023. The Interim Order protecting customer information from public disclosure will remain in effect until then. The Court also announced that it would hold a hearing on April 19, 2023 to consider the issue of whether transfers that occurred after the “Platform Pause” should be recognized, unless a consensual resolution can be reached prior.


January 30, 2023

The Bankruptcy Court entered an order approving the bidding procedures in connection with the sale of the Debtors' assets.


January 20, 2023

In accordance with Section 341 of the Bankruptcy Code, a meeting of creditors (the "Section 341 Meeting of Creditors") was held telephonically.


January 1, 2023

Brown Rudnick was selected to represent the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 case of BlockFi Inc.


November 28, 2022

BlockFi Inc. and 8 affiliated debtors (collectively, the "Debtors") each filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey (Trenton). The cases are pending before the Honorable Michael B. Kaplan and are jointly administered under Case No. 22-19361. You can view the bankruptcy filing documents here.
